What to Expect

If this is your first treatment, we’ll make sure you are at ease every step of the way. We treat lots of people who are needle shy, and we are certain you will be pleasantly surprised at how comfortable acupuncture can be. Most people find it so relaxing that they fall fast asleep! Your Acupuncturist In Santa Barbara will just take a few minutes to place extremely small, sterile, single-use needles in various points on your body- usually below the elbows and knees, often on the ears or head, and then you will be left to rest with the needles in for at least 30-45 minutes.

Like in China where acupuncture originated people are treated together in a tranquil open room. There are 4 plush, super comfortable recliners positioned side by side with soothing music playing in the background. Our patients are comforted by the fact that they are not isolated alone in a room and can get treated with family and friends. This allows us to keep acupuncture affordable so that you get the proper amount of care you need. Our rates are $40 per treatment (a $10 intake fee is added to the initial appointment) whereas a single treatment in Santa Barbara is anywhere from $80-$120. Our community setting also allows you to rest as long as you need. For some that means 30 minutes and for others an hour plus. People from all walks of life are discovering that being treated together is extremely relaxing as a collective healing energy is created. We like to call it collective qi.
